Sony NEX-F3 Adapter

(A-mount to E-mount Adapter)

I bought for my wife a Sony Nex-F3, easier for her trip with Nur Iman, no need to bring those bulky DSLR with gigantic lenses. I got those for only RM16xx at bukit bintang plaza with normal kit lens. inside, you've got one of the best APS-C sensors on the market now (use by other brands also etc: nikon,pentax,fuji)

since i've got several lenses form my A-mount, I just need an adapter to use it with the Nex camera, the are a lot of adapter where you can choose, any mount but most of them without any 'chips' so you have to manually focus and manual metering. I bought it online for RM90, just a plain normal close up adapter, I have to manually set the aperture (stick something to the aperture lever behind the lens) and manual focus.

(Tamron 10-24mm F/3.5-4.5)

manual focus?! soooo00 1921...! but hey, you should try it! yes it is slower than normal auto focus, and you'll get out-focus most of the times, you can manage your focus point ANYWHERE inside your screen! you don't have to select the focus point on your camera dials, you're free to focus the person in the back or vice versa, it's you who choose the points! oh, further more, the Nex have a peaking function where manual focus becomes easier!

using the 50mm is a winner here! you'll get the huge depth of field, good for portraiture, 50mm F/5.6 is not as creeeeeaaaamy as 50mm F/1.4, hehehe.. 

(Tamron 70-200mm F/2.8)

sony also just announce the new 35mm f/1.8 and 10-18 f/4.0, just what i wanted! need to get approval from the treasurer, lol! but wait..is this suppose to be my wife's camera?!! why am I getting so excited?! she doesn't any mannnnual focus lens, she doesn't want to change lenses between portraiture and landscape!

Platform Manning

OH, memang penat..penat badan, penat akal..when you are the only one mechanic available on a platform which is about your age, and..you are still trainee, tidak ke sakit namanya?hehhee..they didn't care if your a new or not, diorang xnak dengar tangisan/rayuan dari kau, they just want the job finished! memandangkan my colleague tak sihat baru ni, so i took the job as the chief khadam  kat Semangkok, hahah!

Last trip aku agak sesak sikit, seorang as a mechanical, seorang as a site safety guys, have to go to satellite lagi, anak xsihat lagi, huuuuh! in the morning, aku kene conduct morning meeting with all the person onboard, minggu ni saja aku kene conduct 2 safety meeting untuk both crew! then aku kene conduct 1 fire drill lagi! 

dan untuk mechanical side pulak, 2kali platform shutdown sebab ribut kuat, 2 kali turbine generator merajuk xnak start balik lepas shutdown, malam buta plak tu..semangkok B air compressor dia ada buhat hal plak. mula2 aku rasa nak menangis pun ada jugak, sebab supervisor aku plak baru je 2-3 masuk, orang dari platform baru, so dia pun sedang cari rentak/get-to-know platform baru ni, syukurlah semua tu settle..

form last trip also aku experience the importance of so called-politics during working, hehehe..nak popular?nak tegas?popular among contractors/supervisors/crew members?jijik pun ada, tapi that's life..

Mumy ada kelas sampai 7pm arini, maybe xbalik rumah sebab esok ada kelas lagi 8am, so Iman boleh main dengan atok & oni kat rumah ni, kalau dekat melawati bole dera atok & opah. pagi ni Iman bangun awal mcm biasa, 630am..so atok ajak pergi pasar!

Aidilfitri di Platform

Salam & Hi, ha..gambar atas tu time aku naik crew boat dari semangkok A ke B, dalam 2km je jarak dia, 20minit sampai la. kalau angin or ombak kuat sikit mmg muntah ke langit la aku, mabuk laut bro..so kalu supervisor suruh aku pergi sana, aku mula la buat2 sakit or berguling atas lantai tanda protes, lol! tapi kesudahannye mmg kene pergi jgk la!

Baru ni aku kena beraya kat platform, aku naik 3hari sebelum raya, balik raya ke-12, sedih la jgk, sbb 1st time beraya w/o family, kalau ada inernet tu bestla jgk, tapi ada telefon 5minit pun syukurla. time raya tu platform memang lengang, semua kontraktor balik cuti la..tinggal budak2 esso dengan utility guys je. Yang lagi best tu aku sorang je mechanic kat atas tu, roboh la platform jawabnye,huhu! proses sambut raya tu macam biasa, ada takbir, sembahyang, salam2, makan lemang ketupat kuih, cume mercun or bunga api memang dilarang (duuuhh!) sama sekali lah, even comunicate dengan radio pun kene berhati2 bab mercun tu, jadi issue plak..

aku xbawak camera time raya tu..lagi pun xde ape sangat pun, cume galley tu dia hias2 sikit je..kerja sume berjalan macam biasa, pagi raya tu service diesel filter teringaaat meriam buluh, hehehe..

sekarang tempat aku tinggal 2mechanic je, kalau sorang sakit, alamat kau sorang je la kene kerja. orang baru mcm aku ni mungkin susah sikitla nak dapat kepercayaan dari atasan, risau plak troubleshooting jadi mcm cerita bujang lapok yg start motor tu, hish! luckily aku ada bos2 yg percaya(crew aku la, crew lain tu supervisor yg berleter mcm mak nenek!) yg sentiasa bagi tunjuk ajar.

nak dijadikan cerita plak, baru ni semangkok B ada problem kat generator, xbole start, raya ke 3, orang lain xbalik lagi so aku kene pergi sana nk check. my boss ni latar belakang dari maintenance so dia bagi tips on how to tackle this kind of problem. rujuk catalog itulah yg paling penting, jgn just berharap ke senior punye  explanation je, buadaya ni aku perlu terap dan biasakan memandangkan aku akan banyak kerja alone nanti. dekat platform ni xbole jadi bodoh sombong or malu2, memang xde sape nak layan kau nanti, hehehe..

trip akan datang ni aku akan dapat new PIC dan maintenance supervisor untuk crew aku, sedih pun ada jgk sbb supv aku tu mmg orang lama semangkok ni, memang jenis no-nonsense-hardcore punya mechanic, kecik je orangnye tapi kuat nak mampos!knowledge pasal mechanical jgn cerita la, top-notch! but life goes on la..bos baru, kerajaan barula jawabnya, hehehe.

Semangkok

Semangkok adalah salah satu pelantar minyak dia laut cina selatan. Semangkok ini antara pelantar minyak terdekat (lebih kurang 2xx km / 45minit chopper). ianya dibina pada tahun 1983 dan mempunyai 1 pelantar satelit.

Sebelum sampai ke pelantar minyak ni, kita akan menaiki helicopter dari airport Kertih, Terengganu. selalunya kita perlu check in di airport seawal 0600hrs, pastikan semua keperluan untuk naik ke pelantar minyak (kursus M-Boset, fit for work, Kad pengenalan, coverall, safety boot, kelengkapan keselamatan) sudah diselesaikan. alatan electronik (laptop, media players, camera, etc) perlu declare di airport.

semangkok ni kecil je platformnye, total man on board dalam 80 lebih je, brucker ade dalam 108 kerusi, terdiri daripada regular crew, utilities dan kontraktor. bermacam2 kaum dan agama ada di Semangkok, semua free untuk mengamalkan agama masing-masing, ada surau yang bole accommodate 25 orang (we have a class after magrib, in shaa Allah).

Didalam quarters, ade 4 tingkat air-conditioned living quarters, you will amaze by the cleanliness of this old platform, lama tapi bersih! bilik2 ada 2 katil double decker yg solid-stable-empuk. kecik je biliknye, dalam  3mx3m je kut, maybe org zaman '83 kecik2, hehehe..astro suma ada, internet, galley die xde la luas sangat, tapi bersih, makanan mcm food court buffet cuma instead of dalam seminggu tu ada special menu, kat sini tiap2 hari special menu!ice cream, western, meggi, drinks,tit bits, snacks..etc. dulu ade mesin aiskim mcm mcD tu, tapi dah rosak+xbersih katanya..so die letak kon dah ko scoop sendiri la aiskim tu, nak 4tingkat ke xkisah, haha!

pakaian yg aku bawak sana sikit je, sbb pagi-tghari-malam-tghmalam  ada laundry. aku just bawak 2coveralls, 3tshirt, brief, 2stoking,2seluar(xkisahla sluar jalang/pendek/trek ke)dan baju sembahyang. pada yg hisap rokok tu pepandai la bawak stock byk2,  98% org sana smoker.

Semangkok field ni ada satu satellite platform, semangkok B, dalam 2km je dari A, selalunya kita akan naik crew boat la, dalam 10minit dan org yg mabuk laut mcm aku ni mmg akan muntah hijau la, huhu! semangkok B ni kecik je, ade quarters jgk, cume ada 6katil sahaja. selalunya production yg akan tidur sini, geng2 maintenance xtido, diorg akan balik hari. dalam 2minggu tu maybe dalam 3-4hari jgk la aku akan berulang ke B ni.

Tips untuk yang baru tu. hmm..layan sahaja macam-macam kepala kat sana, be friends with everyone, life is too short on making enemies, bring along your media players, bawa spare italk banyak2, working time is 0630-1830, be punctual, respect the elderly DAN their position, let it be Platform supervisor, first line supervisors, campboss, safety leaders, room boys or others.

I'll Try My Best

I'll try my best to give whats best for my family, lots of things I've sacrifices just to make them happy but it's ok, as long as they are happy, i'm also happy!

Thank Allah for giving me tons of livelihood . some time we tend to forget and only regret when shit happens, thats a very important thing we should bare in mind...

okla, saja kemas2 habuk dalam blog, sebenarnye banyak masa terluang, tapi malas&lupa nak blog. hm, rase nak bawa camera la ke ofis, bole tunjuk ke rakan2 tempat kerja kita. 

i'm still a trainee, bersyukur dapat senior yg sangat suka mengajar dan membantu. syukur jugak dapat promote jadi site leader, dapat la iman duit nak beli cekedis.
